Much like my previous blog with my first husband Noel, (who passed away in 2023) this blog will be a journal of Life and Love with Anna and Matt. We love to adventure, near or far from home; we love our friends and family, cruising, road trips, birds, antiques, eBay, music, food and most of all, each other!
To introduce ourselves let me start by giving you a little history. I was born and raised in Ohio as first generation Hungarian, my maiden name being Horanyi. I met Noel when I was 17 and was with him for 43 years, nursing his thru 3 cancers and more. We moved to VERO BEACH Florida in 2020 from Ohio to be closer to our son Jason. By May of 2023 he was gone.
Matt was born and raised in Berlin, Connecticut and not long after graduating high school he joined the Navy. He spent 16 years in the Navy, having traveled all over the world. He became a long distance semi-truck driver after the Navy, and then he and his mother, an antiques aficionado discovered eBay. They both loved picking and selling together, and decided to get out of the cold weather and moved in VERO BEACH, Florida, in, you guessed it, 2020!
His mother was one of the first to die from Covid no long after they moved here. Matt was dating a wonderful woman named Dee, and just months into dating, she received a terminal diagnosis of cancer. Matt immediately married her and became her sole caregiver until she passed 14 months later.
Matt and Dee lived just 10 houses down the street, so we knew each other well enough to stop and say hi, as how the other was doing, and when Noel died I took all the extra "hospital supplies" down to Matt. After she passed we consoled each other and Matt was nice, but "not my type". Through months of friendship, consoling, depression, thunderstorms and fire ants, turns out smart bald and funny is just my type!
So here we are in 2026, best friends and crazy in love, we've been slowly building a life together. It's nice because we frequently bring up old memories of our former spouses (Matt's had a few divorces) and our lives have meshed together seamlessly.
Over the past year we have taken several trips (Matt was a big time cruise fan, once a sailor always a sailor) and so we've sailed to all kinds of places I never dreamed I would visit! Cabo, the Virgin Islands, Costa Maya, Cozumel, Belize, Honduras. Me! Little old boring me has been snorkeling in HONDURAS! Sometime I have to wonder whose life IS this?
We took a drive last year to the northeast for Matt's 50th high school reunion in Connecticut, and since I had been to 46 of the 50 states, Matt made sure to take me to Delaware, Rhode Island, Connecticut and Massachusetts to say I've been to all 50!
So we are using this as my journal / travel journal, sharing pictures and moments without having to drag all our Facebook friends along with us. This way if you have an interest in what these 2 old folks are doing, you are here by choice!
I will start with posting a few pics from last year, just so I know how to do it on this page. And there we go! Stay tuned
